Publisher's Synopsis
The third and final volume of this extraordinarily successful and popular reference work has just come off the press. Illustrated by more than 700 colour photomicrographs, this third volume presents more than 100 morphologic clues that aid in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of malignant melanoma, mycosis fungoides, and neoplasms with follicular differentiation. In addition, the index of this volume cross-references images, features, and diseases for each of the three volumes in the set, enabling the reader to easily refer to all volumes.;The presentation follows the same innovative format that made the previous two volumes so useful for study, teaching, and everyday reference. For each clue, the book first presents a completely unidentified photomicrograph. The next page shows the same photomicrograph at low, intermediate, and high magnifications and identifies the clue. Dr Ackerman then discusses the limitations and variations of the clue and the differential diagnosis of the disease to which it points. Additional photomicrographs illustrate subtle variations in diagnostic expression or similar diseases to consider in differential diagnosis. Numerous clinical photographs are also included to enable the reader to make accurate clinicopathologic correlations. The book is conveniently referenced and indexed both by disease entities and by dermatopathologic features.
