Publisher's Synopsis
This is an occasionally fictitious and 'You-forward' story of a bruised & abused young adult with gifted-kid burnout, as they navigate a life post-college in a world that hates them, with a degree they didn't want, and with aspirations their friends & family believe are pointless. They've been exploring the ambivalence of being unreliable in order to free themselves from the ever-mundane, life-eating machine of the American Dream, as their life is slipping away from them by the fingernails.
Caffeine Kills Brain Cells is about all of that "stuff" in the middle. It isn't a traditional novel, it's a collection of poems written over the last ten or so years that all utilize a more avant-garde approach to narrative poetry. These poems are assorted randomly, with no real purpose - on purpose, because life is just fucking messy.
